“Alpaufzug” is an original woodcarving by Gret Zellweger, independent Swiss artist and gallery owner. The art depicts an event held each year in May by the farm families of Appenzell, located in the northeast region of Switzerland. The cows and goats are driven upward on the narrow path through the cliff to the alpine summer pasture. The event called “Alpaufzug” is an important event and all participants – even the cows with their big bells – are dressed up. This original artwork was auctioned during the live auction.
