This module was presented as one of four modules at Montgomery Hospice's 2015 conference titled "Different Voices, Shared Journeys: Providing Culturally Sensitive Care."  Back by request, this seminar is being reoffered ONLINE this summer.

Description

This session will include an in-depth discussion of cultural barriers that occur when discussing end-of-life issues with patients and families. Participants will learn about various cultural assessment models along with communication strategies that can be utilized when working with patients and families which a particular focus on memorial and funeral planning. Rabbi Fink will also present a number of real life case studies representing the unique needs that professionals often encounter in our community.
