Online Program

Featuring
Janice Newell Bissex, MS, RDN, FAND | Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, cookbook author, and Holistic Cannabis Practitioner

Description:
Patients are using and asking about cannabis and CBD products with greater frequency, especially as marijuana has been legalized by an increasing number of states. There has been a tenfold increase in cannabis use in those over 65, as many older adults are turning to cannabis to treat health issues.

Join us for a webinar that will provide a historical perspective on cannabis use and an overview of the endocannabinoid system. Our speaker, Janice Newell Bissex, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, cookbook author, and Holistic Cannabis Practitioner, will discuss the conditions cannabis/CBD may be helpful for, as well as proper administration methods and dosing. Janice will dive into the research, evidence base, pros and cons of cannabis/CBD, and appropriate medical use of cannabis and CBD, with particular focus on the use of cannabis/CBD in end-of-life situations.

Continuing Education:
*1.5 contact hour for social workers, and assisted living managers and nursing home administrators (through NAB)

*This program counts towards The Center for Learning's Certificate in End-of-Life Care (elective)
