Ways to Help
Volunteers can help in many ways, depending on their interests and their availability.
Patient Care volunteers visit with patients so caregivers can take a break; give soothing hand massages to ease stress; run errands or help patients with email, letters or memoirs. Patient Care volunteers can serve in many corners of our community: in private homes, at extended care facilities, or at Casey House.
Licensed Massage Therapists are needed to become part of Montgomery Hospice's volunteer massage therapy program.
Bereavement Care volunteers offer a sympathetic ear and emotional comfort to hospice families for over a year after the death of their loved one. Volunteers work beside professional counselors to provide grief support through phone calls and home visits.
Fundraising and Outreach volunteers spread the word about hospice and help with fundraising that enables Montgomery Hospice to serve patients regardless of ability to pay.
Administrative volunteers provide office support at our Rockville headquarters and at Casey House. They answer phones, help with correspondence and survey hospice families about the quality of our care.
